You Can Single Mom

The goal of the project was to construct a visually appealing and usable website for a non-profit organization committed to assisting single mothers. The customer envisioned a site that was not only physically appealing but also functional, with the goal of attracting public donations. With a diverse audience spanning all demographics, the project demanded a well-thought-out design that would be universally appealing. There was a one-week deadline and no budget, and all work was done as a gift of time and talent.

Process

Sketches for mobile, tablet, and desktop layouts were created to begin the design phase. The Figma application was then used to create wireframes, which resulted in the first round of client feedback. Although inspired by successful web examples, the initial donation page design did not meet the client's expectations, necessitating a redesign.

Analysis

High-fidelity wireframes of the proposed site's appearance and feel were generated. However, due to an issue with image size, it was decided to change the frames for all wireframes. A high-fidelity prototype was created, which needed to be resized depending on client comments.

The feedback was invaluable, and it resulted in the adoption of critical adjustments including changing the size of the items and revamping the donation page. In addition, testimonial videos and personal tales were added to the website to emphasize the value of the organization's work and the importance of donations.

Final Product

Despite several attempts to send samples, the feedback on the project was direct and specific. The material was returned four times, but even just an image or a line of feedback was enough for the recipient to take the project back and work on it, applying the given feedback.

Conclusion

Black Background

The client provided a major learning opportunity. It emphasized the significance of actively listening to the client's wants and expectations from the start, as well as the relevance of iterative feedback in refining the design. It also demonstrated the importance of adaptability and quick problem-solving abilities, especially when confronted with unforeseen obstacles such as image size issues.
